Celebrating Ultra Support’s 4.5 Stars on the UN SDGs

July 11, 2024

At Ultra Support, we are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded an impressive 4.5 stars for our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This achievement reflects our dedication to fostering a sustainable future through responsible business practices and innovative solutions.

A Commitment to Sustainability

Ultra Support has always been at the forefront of integrating sustainability into our core operations. Our services in the data centre industry are designed to add value to customer relationships while prioritising environmental and social responsibility. With over two thousand customer sites and hundreds of thousands of assets supported 24/7, our impact is both extensive and profound.

Our Priority Goals

Our sustainability strategy is built around four priority SDGs:

  1. No Poverty (SDG 1): We are committed to ending poverty in all its forms, ensuring that all people can enjoy a minimum standard of living.
  2. Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3): We aim to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, both within our organisation and in the communities we serve.
  3. Gender Equality (SDG 5): We strive to achieve gender equality and empower all within our organisation and through our business practices.
  4. Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12): We focus on ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns, reducing waste, and promoting resource efficiency.

Measurable Targets And Actions

Our commitment to the SDGs is not just in words but in measurable actions and targets. For example, we have set clear goals to improve the economic well-being of our employees and the communities we operate in, enhance health and safety standards, promote gender equality through recruitment and career advancement opportunities, and reduce our environmental impact by minimising waste and promoting recycling. These targets are aligned with the SDGs and include specific metrics and deadlines to ensure accountability and progress.

Taking Action

Ultra Support has implemented several initiatives to support our sustainability goals. These include:

  • No Poverty (SDG 1): Initiating community programmes to support local economic development and providing fair wages and benefits to all employees.
  • Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3): Implement comprehensive health and wellness programmes for our employees and conduct health workshops and screenings in our communities.
  • Gender Equality (SDG 5): Launching mentorship and leadership programmes ensuring equal opportunities for career advancement within the company.
  • Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12): Reducing waste through improved recycling processes and promoting the use of sustainable materials and resources in our operations.

Performance Data

Transparency is key to our sustainability strategy. We regularly publish data on our progress towards achieving our SDG targets. This includes reporting on the impact of our community programmes, health and wellness statistics, gender diversity metrics, and waste reduction achievements. By sharing this information, we hold ourselves accountable and demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement.

Supplier Education

While we are working diligently with our suppliers, we recognise that there is more to be done in educating them about the SDGs. We aim to increase our efforts in this area to encourage our suppliers to adopt sustainable practices and align their operations with the SDGs.

Industry Comparisons

Our achievement of 4.5 stars places us well ahead of many of our peers in the technology industry. According to recent research, only 33% of companies in our sector have selected and shared priority SDGs, and just 4% are educating their suppliers about the SDGs. Ultra Support’s comprehensive approach to sustainability sets us apart as a leader in our field.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate this significant milestone, we remain committed to enhancing our sustainability efforts. We will continue to refine our strategy, engage with our suppliers, invest in sustainable innovation, and collaborate across sectors. Our goal is to not only maintain our high rating but to further improve and inspire others in the industry to join us in supporting the UN SDGs.

At Ultra Support, we believe that sustainability is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to create a better and fairer world for all. We are proud of our achievements and excited about the future as we continue to drive positive change and contribute to a sustainable future.
